Christmas Wishes From Lewis & Co.
2016 – A Year of Change
When people look back on 2016 the overriding emotion is one of change.
The world of politics was thrown into disarray with the UK historically voting to leave the EU, leading to the ousting of the then Prime Minister David Cameron and the installation of a new leader in Teresa May. Trump won the battle for the White House, seeing off Hillary Clinton, the ‘expert’s’ favourite, and subsequently opening a potential can of worms which no one is quite sure what the aftermath will be.
There were changes in the world of sport; Leicester City’s performances gripped the nation winning the Premier League. Iceland and Wales became the unlikely heroes of European football, (the less said about England and the Sam Allardyce calamity the better) and Great Britain had their best ever overseas Olympics in Rio.
For Lewis & Co. there were also big changes afoot. After more than 30 years at the helm, with the thought of more golf in his semi-retirement becoming too appealing to ignore, Barney thought it time for him to step aside, thus paving the way for a new leader of Lewis & Co. On 1st March 2016 Gary took over and the company hasn’t looked back.
It only seems apt that we take this opportunity to thank our clients for all of their support during our period of transition. Many of these clients we have worked with for a number of years, others are very new working relationships which we hope will continue and thrive for many years to come.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from us all.
